Linen clothes are always associated with comfort, naturalness and style. Linen is a natural material, linen clothes are ideal for hot days due to their breathable and hygroscopic properties. Linen fabric is considered one of the least whimsical fabrics, but still requires some care to maintain its original appearance and properties.
How to wash linen clothes correctly
Before washing linen clothes, you need to look carefully at the tag. If it has a “dry clean” sign on it, then such clothes should be dry-cleaned. If not, use the following tips.
- Choose the right detergent. Use mild detergents without aggressive chemical additives. Preference should be given to liquid detergents. And never use bleach!
- Washing temperature. We recommend washing at a temperature not exceeding 30-40°C. High temperatures can cause the flax fibers to shrink. Also, high temperatures can cause smoothly dyed linen to gradually lose its color.
- Washing mode. Use a delicate washing cycle to avoid excessive friction and wear of the fabric.
- Spinning. The best way is to spin manually without twisting, or use the minimum spin mode in the washing machine.
How to dry linen clothes
It is best to choose natural drying of linen clothes. Linen clothes are best dried in the air, but direct sunlight should be avoided to prevent color fading. It is best to dry clothes well straightened in a horizontal position, this will allow them to wrinkle less. If you dry linen in a washing machine, use low temperatures to prevent the fabric from shrinking.

Ironing
To avoid shine on the fabric (especially on dark shades), iron linen clothes from the inside. Linen can be ironed at high temperatures up to +200 °C, using steam to help remove wrinkles. Iron linen clothes when they are still slightly damp, or use a spray bottle with water to moisten the fabric before ironing.
A steamer will also do a good job. Simply hang your linen clothes on a hanger, pull the garment with one hand while steaming, and iron with the other.
How to store linen clothes properly
Store linen clothes folded or hung on a hanger to avoid wrinkles. There should be enough space in the closet for the clothes to hang freely. If you store them folded, do not put other clothes on top of them to avoid wrinkles. Also, use moth repellent to protect the fabric from damage.
